The Wall

2014

Using brick as a basic unit (with dimensions (120mm x 250mm x 60 mm0, a brick wall was to be designed by using operations such as push, pull and shift. With these operations, we could create visual conditions such as calm, agitated, rough, smooth, etc., on the wall surface.

This design process also involved incorporating a combination of design principles. Furthermore, it was important to consider the interaction between the brick wall, its surrounding environment and the public.

For this particular project, the approach was to create visual movement. The wall from the left moves from static to something that resembles soft ripples that glide along the surface and evolves into a
feathered or distressed condition.
